AHC Oberflächentechnik GmbH comprises 15 sites with headquarters in Kerpen, near Cologne. The business of the AHC Group is focused on providing functional coating of technical surfaces as a service. Components, for example, for the automotive industry, the mechanical engineering market, for electricals and electronics and many other industrial sectors are protected against corrosion and wear or given special properties by using patented and in-house-developed processes. Well established processes are the hard anodic oxidation of aluminum materials (HART-COAT®) and the Electroless Nickel plating of ferrous and non-ferrous materials (DURNI-COAT®).
With the first process, a hard layer of aluminum oxide is produced, also known as hard anodising, whereas with the second process, a nickel-phosphorus alloy of specific composition is deposited on a surface. Further noteworthy processes are the plasma chemical process for the coating of magnesium materials (MAGOXID-COAT®) and aluminium materials (KEPLA-COAT®), the dry lubricant anti-friction coatings (GLISS-COAT®), the (META-COAT®) process for the well proven metallisation of high performance plastics as well as a special thin, dense-chromium coating (DURALLOY®) to meet tribological challenges. AHC consultants support their customers throughout the planning and design stages, assisting them in defining precisely thespecification of their requirements as well as selecting the most suitable materials and processes.
