BZEE (Training Centre for Renewable Energy) was founded as an association in 2000 by the German wind energy industry, the German Wind Energy Association (BWE) and the Chamber of Commerce and Industry in Flensburg, Germany. Today, its members include many of the world's leading wind energy companies and organizations.
What we offer
High quality standards: from the industry - for the industry
BZEE offers certified industry-relevant training courses with a high level of practical content for the wind energy sector. An advisory board made up of industry players determines the contents and high quality standards of the courses. The corresponding BZEE certificates, which are seen as an important sign of quality in the sector, ensure training complies with these high standards.
How is BZEE organized?
The commercial arm of the BZEE association, a Ltd company, develops and certifies all seminars and qualifications in accordance with BZEE association quality standards and maintains an official cross-company register of all issued certificates.
BZEE - a world leader in vocational training for the wind energy sector
In order to meet the high demand for qualified service personnel in the wind energy sector BZEE has developed advanced courses to train individuals to become wind turbine technicians. These six-month courses are currently taught by instructors from the industry at six vocational training centers throughout Germany and have successfully been running since 2000. Globally, BZEE certified training courses for wind turbine technicians are running at technical colleges in Canada, England, France, Ireland and the USA that meet the strict BZEE quality standards, making BZEE a world leader in vocational training for the wind energy sector.
Specially designed training courses for instructors ensure that BZEE quality standards are maintained worldwide.
BZEE - customized courses for the wind energy sector
BZEE also offers the compulsory safety and rescue training courses required by the industry on real wind turbines for company employees. The applied specifications were developed by the industry and go far beyond current legal requirements, thus ensuring the highest standards in occupational health and safety. Additionally, BZEE has developed a range of technical qualifications and professional seminars tailored to wind turbine technology including such areas as electrical engineering, mechanics, hydraulics, rotor blade repair, fire protection, driver safety training, environmental protection and hazardous substances.
All qualifications were developed in close cooperation with the BZEE advisory board and are constantly being revised and improved.
Supporting the economy in the renewable sector
BZEE initiates and participates in projects on a national and international level which directly support the industry in terms of creating and securing the urgently needed jobs for qualified professionals.
Examples include the establishment of an integrated training program in the field of mechatronics which includes an additional qualification for wind energy.
One of BZEE's main objectives is to establish internationally accepted standards for the job specifications of technical professionals in the wind energy sector as well as to create internationally recognized teaching standards. For this purpose, the EU-project Windskill was developed together with other European partners and the BWE.
