European Wind Energy Association.
EWEA is the most powerful wind energy network and the recognised voice of the wind industry- actively promoting the utilisation of wind power in Europe and worldwide. Our resources are focussed on lobbying and policy activities, and responding to enquiries from our members. The association also produces a large variety of information tools - such as news releases, reports, briefing documents, statistics and market data, submissions, and presentations combined with communication strategies - all designed to increase the visibility of the wind industry and to ensure that the media, the public and policy makers are aware of the industry's achievements and potential.
EWEA members include manufacturers covering 98% of the world wind power market, component suppliers, research institutes, national wind and renewables associations, developers, electricity providers, finance and insurance companies and consultants. The combined strength of more than 550 members from over 50 countries makes EWEA the world’s largest renewable energy association.
The EWEA Secretariat is located in Brussels at the Renewable Energy House, close to all the key EU institutions and players. The Secretariat consists of 9 professional staff, and co-ordinates international policy, communications, research, and analysis. It manages various European programmes, hosts events and supports the needs of its Members. EWEA is the first stop for external enquiries about wind power from around the world.
EWEA is a founding member of the European Renewable Energy Council (EREC) which groups the 6 key renewables industry and research associations under one roof. |
