AZT- and GL-certified Condition Monitoring System for Top Insurance Terms and Conditions |
Description |
The AZT- and GL-certified CMS used by GEO permanently records oscillations, which arise during turbine operation in form of structure-born noise by "shifting movement" in antifriction bearings and by tooth engagement in gearboxes. These oscillations contain information about the condition of mechanical components.
To access these vibrations acceleration sensors are installed on well defined measuring points at the main and generator bearings and at the gearbox.
The acquired oscillation signals will be transferred to an additionally installed data acquisition unit in the turbine. Taking into account relevant operation data such as rpm, power and optionally wind velocity a turbine specific data analysis will be performed. Using an online connection this condition evaluation will be transferred to the GEO Condition Monitoring Centre.
Afterwards the individual adjustment of each system will be performed on each single turbine. During a period of approx. 3 to 5 months - depending on wind conditions - measuring data from all operating points of the power curve will be stored. This is necessary because the measured vibrations strongly depend on the turbine load, which varies with the wind speed.
In order not to compare apples and oranges, data from certain performance classes has to be assigned. Only in this way normal operating oscillations can be separated from vibrations caused by damages. Within these classes individual limit values can be specified. Automatic alarms will be caused by exceeding of these limit values. These alarms will be exactly analysed by GEO experts subsequently. |
