Buoyed by strong support from both companies and industry associations, the flagship Wind tradeshow will be opening its doors for the first time from 20 to 24 April 2009.
"Our industry exports 80 percent of its production. Maintaining that kind of performance necessitates a successful exhibition platform that puts the industry in touch with key domestic and foreign-based investors. Its ability to broker high-level dialogue between policymakers and private sector companies is another key strength of the HANNOVER FAIR - which is why our association will continue to support the Hannover exhibition center in future", explains German Wind Energy Association (BWE) President Hermann Albers.
"Wind" is the ideal platform for profiling wind generation technology in the context of the entire energy value chain, including conventional generation solutions. HANNOVER MESSE attracts a broad audience comprising manufacturers, subcontractors, power station operators, utilities and end consumers. "Wind" also explores the complex issues surrounding the integration of wind generation technology into the overall energy mix, with a broad range of solutions being exhibited in specialty areas, such as grid stability, grid expansion, base load supply security and storage options. The main display categories at Wind include plant engineering, components and services.
Hall 27 will feature all the key generation technologies, being home not only to the Wind show but also to Power Plant Technology, the leading trade fair for power plant design, construction, operation and maintenance. And the Hall's close proximity to Motion, Drive and Automation - the leading trade fair for power transmission and control - will furthermore give visitors to the Hannover showgrounds a unique overview of the entire wind energy value chain.
Additional synergies result from the adjoining SurfaceTechnology, Subcontracting, ComVac (compressed air and vacuum technology) and Industrial Automation tradeshows.
The "Wind" show in Hannover will be staged biennially, alternating with HusumWindEnergy.
