The HanseMesse, adjacent to the park grounds of the IGA 2003 (International Horticulture Exhibition), comprises the fair and exhibition center, and the conference rotunda. Its technical versatility and modernity make it an ideal venue for fairs and exhibitions, concerts, sports events, conventions and conferences. The fair hall possesses a gross exhibition area of 10,600 m² and is divisible by means of a partitioning wall. An additional open area of up to 20,000 m² is available outside the hall. Six conference rooms offering a high degree of versatility in usage are available in the conference rotunda, the largest of which can accommodate 304 participants.
With its start in 2008, the international trade fair and conference BalticFuture is a platform to showcase the innovative maritime sector on an annual basis. The focus of this event is on the entire Baltic Sea region. Rostock is the economic centre of the state of Mecklenburg-Vorpommern and a hub between Western and Eastern Europe, Scandinavia and the Baltic States. Building on the success of the 1st BalticFuture in November 2008, the profile has been strengthened for 2010’s fair.
