Description |
Applications in wind power systems
ifm electronic has been developing and producing rotational speed, slip and (rotational) direction monitors for industrial applications under the name pulse evaluation systems for many years. In particular speed monitors, with their different types and functions, can be found in all areas of the processing and producing industries, from axes monitoring on a machining centre to rotary feeders.
So, simple analogue speed monitors from ifm were used in the early years of wind power systems for rotor speed monitoring. Today, the units of the monitor series are used by renowned manufacturers (worldwide) to precisely and reliably signal if the permissible rotor speed is exceeded and activate necessary blade adjustments.
