In 1999 mergered two companies with more than 100 years of tradition, the Danish cable manufacturer NKT A/S with Felten & Guilleaume Kabelwerke GmbH in Germany to form nkt cables group GmbH with headquarters in Cologne. nkt cables group GmbH is owned by NKT Holding A/S, an industrial group of companies employing 5.500 people.
nkt cables group GmbH bundles the expertise of around 2.300 employees in 10 production and development facilities spread over five European countries and P.R. China.
Manufacturing and developing power cable accessories up to 72 kV is one of the core businesses. Since more than 50 years nkt cables GmbH Nordenham, Germany (formerly F&G Kabelgarnituren GmbH) is one the world market leaders in power cable accessories. The location Nordenham is the competence centre for cable accessories within the nkt cables group and additionally manufactures a wide range of cable distribution boxes, enclosures with tailored installations and house service boxes.
As the first company introducing silicon rubber terminations already in 1960, nkt cables is specialized in production of silicon rubber cable accessories. The service offer includes training for applicants, tailored solutions and standard products as well as a comprehensive After-sale-Service. The own tool-shop enables quick and competent realisation of customer demands.
Prequalification and certificates according to ISO 9001 and ISO 14001 are a matter of course. Due to long lasting partnership to all leading Utilities and well known industrial companies / OEMs nationally as internationally, nkt cables products are used all over the world.
