The Company
Overspeed is an innovative service and consulting company with focus on wind power and the energy business area. Our services and products span the entire wind energy sector from wind energy consulting to wind power predictions for grid operators -- from the development of wind farm management software to energy storage systems and professional training.

Consulting
On basis of over 20 years of experience in the area of wind energy Overspeed is working as consultant in the areas of wind potential analysis, wind farm layout, energy transmission and management of approval procedures. In focus are mainly projects at "challenging" sites e.g. outside Europe and offshore. In particular Overspeed is the main consultant for the project "Sandbank24", one of the largest offshore wind farms in the world.

Wind power prediction
The further development of energy supply by integration of conventional power stations and wind energy is also a main working topic of Overspeed. We develop and run the operational platform Anemos, which provides wind power predictions with different horizons, resolutions and fequency. In various EU-projects, Overspeed is mainly responsible for conceptual design and development of the operational platform as well as for installation and operation of the prediction systems.

Research and Development
Overspeed emphasises the application and the development of new techniques and methods. For this reason Overspeed is involved in several R&D projects in the areas of remote surveillance, power prediction, offshore maintenance optimisation and wind - hydrogen - balancing power and promotes close cooperation among different research facilities and companies worldwide.

Wind Energy and IT
One of the main topics of Overspeed is the development and selling of IT-products around wind energy. This includes our system for remote surveillance of wind farms, OptiFarm. The intent of this development is it to give the wind farm operator an instrument at hand to minimise the expenses of wind farm operation and to optimise the economic performance. Independent part of OptiFarm is Shadeoff, our optimising solar shade shut-off system.

Advanced Training and Seminars
Overspeed, in its position as an innovative service company, offers individually tailored seminars on all wind energy topics and further develops state-of-the-art educational opportunities. Together with ForWind, we are founders of ForWind Academy and are actively engaged in the continuing studies Programme Wind Energy Technology and Management and the Postgraduate Programme Renewable Energies (PPRE) at the Carl von Ossietzky University of Oldenburg.
