REpower delivers 25 turbines (50 MW) to new US customer Cannon Power

Hamburg/Portland, 22 November 2007. REpower Systems AG (WKN 617703) has received an order from Cascade Wind Holdings, LLC, an affiliate of Cannon Power Corporation, for 25 of REpower’s MM92 two megawatt-class wind turbines (total capacity of 50 MW) for Cascade’s “Windy Point, Phase I” wind farm in Goldendale, Washington. Cannon Power Corporation is a San Diego-based developer of wind power projects which has commissioned more than 1,400 wind turbines and is REpower’s second US based customer. The “Windy Point” project being developed by Cannon’s Cascade affiliate is located in the fast growing US Pacific Northwest wind development region. On final build-out, the “Windy Point” project is expected to exceed 450 MW.

REpower is already supplying a total of 175 MM92 two-megawatt turbines to enXco, the US subsidiary of EDF Energies Nouvelles. The “Windy Point“ project site will be realised on land leased from local landowners in an area with a proven wind resource. It will be managed by REpower USA’s Portland, OR based office for sales, project management and service. The “Windy Point, Phase I” project is scheduled for completion in 2008.

“We are pleased to be expanding our presence in the Pacific Northwest with today’s announcement to supply turbines to Cannon’s “Windy Point” project”, comments new REpower USA Chief Executive Officer, Steve Dayney.

Dayney was most recently with Xcel Energy, a major US utility holding company where he held management positions in the engineering, business development and project management organizations. He has spent the past twenty five years in the energy industry in a variety of management and engineering roles. Dayney holds a bachelor’s of science degree in civil engineering from Purdue University and a master’s degree in business administration from the University of Colorado.

REpower USA is the latest international subsidiary of the German wind turbine manufacturer and is already making a significant contribution to the firm’s turnover and corporate goals in the important US market.
