World leading wind turbine maker Vestas Wind Systems said it has received an order for 22 units of the V90-3.0 megawatt (MW) wind turbine. TransAlta Wind has placed the order for its Blue Trail Wind Farm which is located southwest of the town of Fort MacLeod in southern Alberta in Canada. The turbines will have a total installed capacity of 66 MW. The order comprises supply and commissioning of the wind turbines and a five-year service and maintenance agreement. Delivery of the turbines is scheduled to begin mid-2009, and Vestas expects to complete commissioning in the second half of 2009.
