USA - Ross entrepreneur leads the way in developing wind power

225-megawatt wind farm to provide energy for 79,000 homes each year

Ross resident Eric Greenberg played a major role in paving the way for a wind-power development for the Lower Brule Lakota Tribes of South Dakota.
Greenberg, who heads Innovation Investments in San Francisco, coordinated a deal with Iberdola Renewables, a Portland, Ore., wind-power provider that signed an agreement with the Lower Brule Sioux to develop a wind project on the tribe's land.

A 225-megawatt wind farm could be on line as early as 2010 and would provide energy for 79,000 homes each year, according to American Wind Energy Association estimates.
