Romania - Czech firm CEZ announces it has acquired a 600-megawatt Romanian wind project

For .1 billion CEZ will develop the wind project in Dobruja province on the Romanian coast of the Black Sea

Czech firm CEZ announced it acquired a 600-megawatt Romanian wind project.

For .1 billion CEZ will develop the wind project in Dobruja province on the Romanian coast of the Black Sea.

CEZ purchased the project from Continental Wind Partners and projects the two-phase project will be completely operational by 2010. It is expected to generate 252.5 megawatts of electricity.

CEZ officials said the project is important to Romania because currently the country has only about 7 megawatts of wind power capacity.

More than 139 GE 2.5 xl turbines will be installed, each 100 meters high with a rotor diameter of 99 meters and a 2.5-megawatt capacity.
