Project developer WKN Windkraft Nord AG takes positive stocks of this year HusumWindEnergy. “The quality of our existing and newly generated contacts at the most important exhibition for wind energy worldwide was quite high”, WKN-CEO Martinus Scherweit states. “The fair again proved to be not only a traditional hot spot, but also an outstanding meeting point for business transactions.” Thus the company signed an additional contract with International Power plc at the HusumWindEnergy. Already in 2007, International Power, a leading independent electricity generating company, acquired windfarm Karstaedt with ten Vestas V90 wind turbines. At the Husum fair the partners set the seal on the extension of the windfarm located in Eastern Germany. According to the general co-ordinator contract, WKN Windkraft Nord AG will again build the extension turn-key for the customer. Start of operation is planned for January 2009.

“We are pleased to co-operate again with International Power”, Michael Ostwald, CFO of WKN AG, reports. “It shows that the German market has become even more attractive after the amendment of the German Renewable Energy Act (EEG).”
