To get more space and to gather more activities at the same location, Vestas has decided to move its headquarters from Randers to Aarhus, Denmark in 2011. Vestas is of the opinion that Aarhus can offer the company the facilities needed to attract and maintain the right Danish and foreign employees. The new headquarters will be established next to Vestas Technology R&D's new development centre in Aarhus, where Vestas has bought a site of approx 73,800 m2.

The functions which will move to Aarhus are Executive Management, Group Finance & Operations, Group Treasury, Group Communications and Contract Review. These functions today employ more than 250 people.

The relocation will at the same time make it possible for Vestas Offshore, Vestas People & Culture and Vestas' global IT function to continue their expansions in Randers. These functions today employ a total of approx 600 people in Randers.

To move the registered office of the company does, however, require an amendment to the Articles of Association, and the change will be recommended for approval at Vestas' Annual General Meeting.
