* EBIT tripled to EUR 22.7 million

Hamburg, 27 October 2008. In the period 1 April to 30 September 2008, the REpower Systems Group (Prime Standard, WKN 617703) generated total performance of EUR 531.1 million according to provisional calculations, compared to EUR 268.7 million in the corresponding period of the previous year from 1 April to 30 September 2007. The operating result (EBIT) improved exceptionally from EUR 7.6 million to EUR 22.7 million.

In the reporting period from 1 April to 30 September 2008, total operating revenue almost doubled, reaching EUR 531.1 million (compared to EUR 268.7 million in the previous year). Sales also grew by 92.5% year-on-year, from EUR 275.3 million to EUR 529.9 million.

Earnings before interest and tax (EBIT) for the reporting period 1 April to 30 September 2008 amounted to EUR 22.7 million in comparison with EUR 7.6 million for the same period of the previous year. This represents an increase of 198.7%.

By the end of September 2008, the order book contained a contractually assured order volume totalling more than EUR 1.5 billion.

REpower Systems AG changed its fiscal year from the calendar year to the period 1 April to 31 March.
