Danish wind turbine manufacturer Vestas Wind Systems has received an order for the delivery of 67 V90-3MW wind turbines from SC Ewind and SC Wind Power Park for installation in Romania.
The contract includes delivery, installation and commissioning of the turbines and a long-term service agreement. The wind turbines will be delivered to two projects in the region of Constanta in Romania during 2009 and 2010.
Hans Rieks, president of Vestas Central Europe, a wholly owned subsidiary of Vestas Wind Systems, said: "We are very satisfied with this new contract, which shows the positive development of the wind energy market in the eastern European countries.
"We are particularly happy about this contract which is the first large contract for us in Romania and it confirms our positive expectations for this market. Additionally, we are very happy to be working with SC Ewind and SC Wind Power Park on these projects and we are pleased about their confidence in Vestas's technology."
