In recent days, the Provincial Energy Agency of Neuquén (EPEN), together with a working group formed to develop the wind project named "Auquinco Wind Farm", presented the request for authorization for the use of land, to the Provincial Directorate of Lands of the Province of Neuquén, in order to install the wind turbines of this project.
The Auquinco wind farm will be located at the north of the province, and is estimated to generate between 40 and 56 MW.
The EPEN is working jointly with the Regional Center of Wind Energy of the province of Chubut (CREE) and the collaboration of the National University of Comahue. They used the wind map of the Province of Neuquén to identify areas where the wind resource is beneficial in terms of wind power generation.
Also, the EPEN is carrying out a feasibility study for determining the best choice of wind turbines to be installed, which will also allow them to estimate its efficiency, investment costs, and especially the price assigned for the sale of the energy.
