South America - Gamesa to build business opportunities in countries of the region

Attractive business opportunities in three South American countries including: Argentina, Chile and Venezuela

The Spanish company Gamesa has recently stated that, in relation to their firm intention to preserve its sales projections for 2009, they do not preclude the possibility of taking advantage of attractive business opportunities in three South American countries including: Argentina, Chile and Venezuela.

Therefore, it is stressed that at the end of 2008, Gamesa together with the Venezuelan state oil company, PDVSA, signed an agreement which stated that the Spanish firm is to sell 76 wind turbines for a figure that reaches U 151 million.

Furthermore, they are pursuing a wind energy project in the country that provides a total installed capacity of 100 MW, to be developed in two stages. The Spanish company’s president explained that the project is already in the first phase.
