TorcUP Inc. was founded by John Kovacs in 1996 to manufacture industrial bolting equipment for contractors and OEMs that use industrial-size nuts and bolts. Kovacs says his plan was to provide an innovative, reliable and durable tool that was unique and user friendly.

“The founding principle of TorcUP was to bring functionally and technologically advanced torque tools with proven performance benefits to the world,” Kovacs says.

The company’s range of equipment covers hydraulic torque wrenches, pneumatic torque wrenches, hydraulic nut splitters, hydraulic flange spreaders, and all accessories which complement the full bolting tool line. “We carry an ever expanding inventory to meet the needs of our customers quickly and efficiently,” says Kovacs.

Wind Industry
In 2005, TorcUP began working with wind turbine manufacturers through contractors. Kovacs says contractors who were erecting wind towers realized they needed a safe, reliable, and efficient means of tightening and loosening nuts and bolts.

Jim Daugherty, owner of Wind Turbine Tools, introduced the TorcUP line of Industrial Bolting Tools to wind turbine manufacturers.

Now the company provides bolting equipment to wind turbine manufacturers in Far East Asia, South America, and Western Europe, as well as the United States.

According to Kovacs, TorcUP pumps run on low amperage, so they are not voltage sensitive—they can be purchased in either 115V or 230V configurations. The pumps work in all temperature applications, and they can be powered by onsite generators.

“The most advantageous service that TorcUP offers is its support system,” says Kovacs. The company has field representatives across the United States and around the globe, so specialists are available worldwide 24 hours a day, seven days a week.

“We manufacture our product line in the United States, and all tools are field serviceable and backed with the TorcUP 13-month factory warranty,” Kovacs adds.
