WinWinD, head office in Helsinki and assembly plants in Finland and India, supplies one and three megawatt wind turbines based on the low speed technology. An advanced planetary gear solution and low speed synchronous generator form the heart of the concept, which combines the reliability of a modern direct drive and the compactness of the traditional high speed gear system. WinWinD’s products and services include

• WWD-1, a 1MW turbine suitable for areas with challenging logistical conditions (mountains, islands, etc.) and/or environmentally size-limited areas with rotor diameters of 56, 60 and 64 m. The 56 m diameter turbine is for higher wind speed sites (IEC wind class II) while the 60 and 64 m diameter turbines provide higher energy yields at lower wind speed sites.

• WWD-3, a 3MW utility class turbine that offers a reduced energy production cost and is suitable for both land based and near-shore installations. With the option of a 100 m rotor diameter it can provide higher energy yields at lower wind speed sites, while the 90 m rotor diameter option is for higher wind speed sites (IEC wind class II).
